I wish I could go back in time and tell my 13 year old self to just BE YOU. Stop seeking everyone else’s approval. Don’t feign interest in things just to fit in. I knew what I was good at and I left it on the back burner just so I would feel (a little) more accepted by my peers. I’m glad that I outgrew those feelings long ago. I definitely suppressed my creative side for a few years so it feels good to be comfortable in my own skin. No falseness. No drama. No bullshit.
It’s still a message I would love to post on a billboard today. Stop doing things because they’re “cool”! Everybody is good at something, find it and embrace it!
Being fake is akin to wearing a veil. Don’t hide behind others’ ideas. Don’t try and fit the proverbial mold. Be real. Faking it doesn’t achieve anything.
Eat More Plants.
