Know Your Food Facts
Knowledge is power. Think before you speak.
I hate arguing with people about food. At some point opinions and personal choices become fact and getting someone to look at the bigger picture is a complete waste of time.
Someone posted a picture on Instagram of a bowl of vegetables, which included some baby carrots. One of the comments someone left went along the lines of “Ew baby carrots – those are deformed carrots formed together then soaked in chlorine.”
This here is a perfect example of someone hearing some rumor, reading a random article, and then blurting out crap to other people like they know what they’re talking about. This semester I actually took a class on food harvesting. How it’s done correctly, and more importantly, the correct steps one must take on a farm to make sure the produce is handled safely from wash to pack to storage.
